The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) have opened the consultation period for the next version of SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) - The governments tool for assessing the energy and environmental performance of dwellings.
The new version of SAP, to be called SAP 2012 will be used to support the 2013 amendments to Part L of the Building Regulations. Organisations and individuals are invited to participate in this porcess up until the closing date of March 2012.
As well as continuing to underpin Part L and building regulation compliance assessment, SAP Calculations under SAP 2012 will also be used to deliver the Green Deal, the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the Energy Company Obligation (ECO).
SAP will also continue to help delivery of key climate change initiatives such as the Code for Sustainable Homes.
