Commercial EPC
It is now a requirement to produce a Commercial EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) for Commercial buildings.
- EPCs are required on construction, sale or rental of all commercial buildings in England, Scotland and Wales.
- Display Energy Certificates (DEC's) are required for public buildings over 1,000m2. These must be on display in the building.
- The Energy Performance Certificate has a 10 year life span and will be required at point of sale or lease.
The EPC includes a Recommendation Report outlining the short, medium and long term payback energy reduction measures available for your property. There is currently no obligation to instigate these measures, but Build Energy will keep its website updated with information regarding future Government initiatives and encouragements.
