If your proposed extension or renovation includes large areas of glazing, it is likely that Building Control will ask for Heat Loss Calculations or L1b SAP Calculations. |

Many extension designs do not comply with the minimum Part L1b regulations. These require that areas of new glazing account for no more than 25% of new floor area. By upgrading or over compensating in construction of other elements, or perhaps making use of the additional solar gains, this can be overcome.
There are further options to upgrade the existing property - especially useful if the existing dwelling is receiving a make-over too. We can guide you through all the options.
Build Energy have extensive experience in dealing with Part L1b Regulations and can provide you with all the help you need. We've helped hundreds of homeowners all over the UK and it is extremely rare that we do not find a solution - without having to change your plans.
We'll speak to your Building Control Officer, understand what is required, and take care of everything - Easy!
