The Home Quality Mark
The Home Quality Mark is a new scheme from BRE, recently launched in pilot mode.
Build Energy were the first to report on the unveiling of the Home Quality Mark at Ecobuild 2015. We were also among the first to become qualified HQM Assessors, and are now fully licensed to carry out assessments on your behalf.
Since then we’ve been keeping tabs on announcements from the government about their ‘new technical standards’, and on the content of the Home Quality Mark, both of which are replace the outgoing Code for Sustainable Homes.
The scheme uses a five star rating to rank construction quality, comfort and wellbeing and running costs. It is designed to work in the new framework, and with the new national technical standards on water, access, space and security. You can find out more from BREs Home Quality Mark website.
There are also a number of study sites in development.
