Pete & Sarahs Great Run – Update!

10 Dec 2012 at 12:26 PM

I wrote last time about my and Sarahs fundraising effortsIMG_4822Run leading up to the Great South Run.

Well we are very proud to say that we made it round!

It was a truly great (painful!) day which, through the support of our amazing friends, family, colleagues and clients raised a lot of money for the Guide Dog organisation.

The run, together with a bake sale at Highcliffe School has now raised over £1,005 including gift aid contributions. We thank you all for your incredibly generous donations – it really will make a huge difference to someones life.

My original article is below for anyone who missed it the first time.

Sue

This week Sue Ashdown, my Auntie, passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Sue played a very special part in all our lives. She lost her sight at a very young age but was able to live a completely fulfilled, independant and inspirational life thanks to her lifelong partners – her guide dogs.

Sue both worked for, and fundraised for Guide Dogs over many years – one of her incredible feats involved tandem cycling across Cuba! The Guide Dog organisation relies on donations and fundraisers to pay the £50,000 that it costs to take each dog through life.

Sarah and I have decided (yesterday!) to run the Great South run at the end of October in memory of Sue and to raise as much cash as we can for Guide Dogs in the process. We’d like to ask anyone who is able to, to visit our donations page and please give what they can here:

And dont forget, Sarah only gave birth 12 weeks ago and I’m seriously out of shape!

We are grateful for any help you can offer.
