Meeting stringent BREEAM targets means going the extra mile with pre-completion testing and surveys.
The new build 30,000 sqft Fujifilm headquarters from developer Graftongate sits at Cardington Road, Bedford and is on track to secure a BREEAM Excellent rating. The building incorporates an extensive PV array, sustainable urban drainage and a biodiverse landscaping design working in partnership with the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire.
BE were appointed by Main Contractor MCS Group to carry out a full thermographic survey to demonstrate that insulation was fitted in line with construction drawings and that it is continuous, and that excessive thermal bridging had been avoided. We were also able to demonstrate avoidance of air leakage paths within the building fabric.
