Kestrel Barn is a new community farm building that will be used as premisses for charitable organisations. These charities currently use the land to grow produce and teach children from disadvantaged backgrounds the value of farming and growing your own fruit and veg. The new facility houses a teaching kitchen and classroom/meeting/function room with toilets in the centre of the building.
Build Energy was delighted to help Weymouth Town Council and ECA Architecture & Planning with the SBEM energy assessment for the project. The building uses an electric heat pump for heating, as well as solar PV panels, providing a sustainable and future proof community space.
