BE have had great pleasure in supporting the M&E design team on the prestigious Shell site on London’s Southbank.
Developers Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, and Canary Wharf Group have created a vibrant and exciting new quarter in the London Boough of Lambeth, consisting of outstanding residential space, state of the art offices and a diverse mix of retail spaces in the heart of London. The scheme was the focus of one of the largest consultations ever carried out with over 1,000 people and more than 70 organised meetings.
Whilst some buildings are still to be completed, Southbank Place will provide a total of 531,000 sq ft of office space, 55,000 sq ft of retail space and 880 homes. The masterplan was delivered by Squire & Partners and includes landscaping of the old Hungerford car park, open spaces and six new or improved routes from Waterloo station to the river and a new public square.
Much of the work was carried out under the South London Procurement Network (SLPN) which ensures that local businesses are integral to the long term economic growth of the region,
